The aim of this site is to offer examples of my work and provide a contact address.
I specialise in filming events, people and places that I believe have an enormous cultural value but are ignored by mainstream media.
My films attempt to document the energy, enthusiasm, talent, and creative spirit of people within my home city of HULL and I also try to offer content with a universal philosophical appeal that moves far beyond the boundaries of East Yorkshire. My films have been selected for viewing at film festivals in the UK, Europe, and America.
This site contains some of the work that I have produced over the last couple of years. My creative philosophy is evident in my work. I hope my films illustrate and amplify the power and potential of the individual to have a positive effect on the wider human community.
2016 was a busy year and as well as creating films that capture the cultural and artistic energy of Hull, I also created work for the National Union of Teachers and for HULL RLFC legend Sammy Lloyd. As a MASSIVE rugby league fan, I was particularly pleased to be asked to create a promotional film for Sammy Lloyd's charity song released prior to HULL FC's 2016 Wembley appearance. The film received nearly 50 000 views from the HULL FC website, encouraged fans to download the tune, and consequently helped raise a lot of cash for The Steve Prescott Foundation. I also completed a 35 minute documentary that captures the sights and sounds of the 30th Anniversary of the HULL ADELPHI in 2014 and this film will be released at some point in 2017. It took a while to get permission to use some of the material but hopefully the final film is worth the wait.
As my home city celebrates its selection as the 2017 UK City of Culture, I hope to continue to document and amplify the incredible work being produced by the people of HULL and the inspiring work of individuals all over the UK. Human beings can be amazing and I hope my films reflect this fact.
