COME ON YOU HULL: Sammy Lloyd's charity song promo.
This music video was created to promote Sammy Lloyd's euphoric song composed to celebrate HULL RLFC reaching the 2016 Rugby League Challenge Cup Final at Wembley. Sammy Lloyd is a famous ex-player and played for HULL RLFC between 1978 and 1983. He enjoyed great success as a player with HULL and played in two Challenge Cup Finals for the AIRLIE BIRDS including the famous 1980 Cup Final against local rivals Hull KR. This song was recorded and performed with the HULL band HILLBILLY TROUPE and was produced in HULL by Patrick Pretorious of THE TALKS. Despite winning the Cup twice in the post-War years, HULL FC had famously never won a Challenge Cup Final at Wembley. This changed in 2016 when HULL FC defeated Warrington in one of the classic Cup Finals.
ALL proceeds from sales of the song were distributed between FOUR charities:
Dove House Hospice
Macmillan Cancer Support
The Steve Prescott Foundation
HULL FC Community Foundation
The video was placed on the Official Hull FC website and Official Hull FC Facebook page and received nearly 50 000 views. The promotional film encouraged folk to buy the song from I-Tunes and help sustain the great work of the four charity organisations.
